Why is holistic wellbeing so important, especially nutrition?

Let’s face it, a lot of people are still tired and jaded from covid. The basic behaviours to create a healthy workforce are not in place and companies have lost sight of a holistic approach. Part of living in this world is balance and most leaders are not getting that.

 

 So what is the missing piece? If you’ve covered most things, stamped out the weekend emails, put a hard stop to the working day, incentivised employees to walk to work, and initiated some down dog and zen meditation classes in the office, this is GREAT but the MISSING piece to get your employees to the next level of wellbeing and higher performance is nutrition. 

 

People often fall into bad (easy) habits like a pizza or Maccy D’s take away on the way home from work. A poor diet high in processed food, sugar and caffeine eventually wears down the health of our gut health. Science tells us that the health of our gut is linked to our brain health, mental health mood and energy. The problem is that people don’t see the long term effects of a poor diet and how much it holds them back from getting a promotion, pay rise and stepping up in their career. 

But that can all change by giving your employees the right tools and knowledge around diet & nutrition, eating healthy ‘on-the-go’, batch making healthy food at home that saves time, energy and money. Employees need to learn that healthy eating can be FUN, easy and cost-effective, and that nutrition is a strategy to get more energy and it will fast track their career and physical goals.

Holly is a certified Health & Nutrition Coach from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. She is the founder and CEO of a private health coaching practice where she helps high achieving women take back control of their health and create a healthy long lasting relationship with their body using diet & nutrition and other holistic health practices. 

She previously worked for two of the world’s leading FinTech companies, Bloomberg and Thomson Reuters in Singapore. Being a high-achieving salesperson eventually led to burning the candle at both ends and a health diagnosis that inspired Holly’s own health journey. She has since found a way to balance her business and health ambitions as a sustainable long-term career and lifestyle – and now helping other women to do the same.
